snap happy pet care

Snap Happy Pet Care Services is here to help, if you need dog walking or pet visits please don’t look any further.

My desire is to provide safe, reliable, quality services to animal owners who love their pets, but still need to go to work and perform other activities. I want people to have peace-of-mind knowing that their pets are receiving quality, individualised care in their absence.

I have had years of experience for friends and family pet caring and dog walking.  I am an active person who loves animals, the outdoors, health & fitness.

Snap Happy Pet Care Services is fully insured and guarantees your privacy and security. Your pet’s care and safety is my top priority.

After our initial meet and greet, where we will meet you and your pet, your info will remain on file so a quick phone call will reserve service.

We will also send you daily photos of your pets and unlimited LOVE free of charge!

My name is Nicola Smith and I am a true animal lover putting my passion into action. After taking redundancy from work in 2018 it sealed my decision to follow my dream of working in the world of pet services.

My husband and I live in Brynmenyn and own two cats of our own; Sydney a black smoked Maine Coon and Lola a tabby. Sydney came first about 3 and half years ago when we moved into our new home. Thinking she was a boy and then finding out at the vets she was actually a girl.  My baby girl who will only cuddle you on her terms….when you’re in bed.

After about a year in the new house a tabby cat kept hanging around the garden, then sleeping on the garden chair, waiting for me at the patio doors each morning then progressed to sneaking in when she could and sleeping on the kitchen chair. Eventually we found out she lived on the same housing estate about 5 houses up the road…cats are so cheeky. Ourselves and Lola’s owners persevered for a long time trying to get her to go home but she was very persistent and would scratch and tap the front door so Lola became a member of the family and couldn’t be without her now.

Growing up with my parents and two sisters I have always been surrounded by animals at home with dogs, many cats with lots of memorable names….Minstrels, Winston, Claire, Tigger, Candy, Buster, Bruce, Sooty and many more. A rabbit, hamster and a budgie called Bobby.

Why should I use a pet sitter?

Pets that are able to stay in familiar surroundings and that receive regular exercise, mental stimulation and love exhibit less stress based behaviours than pets that are left unattended all day even at home. Pets enjoy personalised one to one attention they receive from a professional pet sitter.

How do I begin service?

Call us to schedule a free meet and greet. You can contact us on via the contact link where we reply within 24 hours and usually sooner.

Why is a meet and greet needed?

The consultation gives the care provider the opportunity to meet you and your pet(s) as well as learning the house rules. It’s a great time for you to get to know us and ask questions.  In addition it gives us an opportunity to clarify any questions we have about your instructions.  We will also ask you to provide us with two sets of keys and sign a Terms and Conditions documents.

Is Snap Happy Pet Care Services insured?

Yes, Snap Happy Pet Care Services is insured, Certificate of Coverage available upon request.

What types of pets do you care for?

We care for dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs, birds, fish, turtles, snakes, lizards. Open to caring for any pet.

What payment types do you accept? How do I pay?

We accept cash, bank transfer and paypal.

All payments are due the first day of scheduled service.

What if I need to cancel service?

If reservations are not cancelled in a timely manner this could interfere with availability for a client that may desire that time block. For this reason, if a reservation for pet sitting is cancelled less than a week before it’s due to start it will be charged at the full rate. If dog-walking services are not given at least 24 hours notice it will be charged at the full rate. Service will not be resumed until any outstanding cancellation fees are paid.

How many visits can I schedule?

You can schedule up to three visits per day to best fit the needs of your pet (s)

Are there extra costs for Holidays?

All bank holidays including Christmas Eve and New Years Eve are extra and these are detailed in the services section.

How are keys handled?

The safety of your home is a top priority for us. I require TWO working keys. One key is to be kept securely at our office, the other one used by the pet sitter. This provides the pet sitter with an emergency backup set.

For the safety of your home, no keys will be returned by unrecorded mail or hidden outside. Keys are marked with pet names only and there are no paper records that would ever connect your key to your home.

What happens during inclement weather?

Your pet’s safety is my top priority. In the event of extreme weather, I may modify the time we spend outdoors and then enjoy indoor playtime for the remainder of the visit.   We will be sure to have a towel handy so we can clean muddy, wet paws.
